I am thinking of visiting National Parks in September and October (Im from Australia). Will the National Parks still be nice then or the foliage/flora going brown and or not as nice and animals wont be out as much?
I am thinking of visiting the National Parks mostly on the West side of America ie Yosemite, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon and the Rocky Mountains (esp Rocky Mountains will that be nice/ok at this time of year?).
Or should I wait for the following May?
Thankyou so much for any help!

October is PERFECT! I drove cross sounrty mid-October this year from Memphis, TN to Palo Alto, CA and the sites are beautiful! The weather is usually around 65-75 and the fall colors are starting to show. The Rockies will be covered with some snow, Yosemite will be changing colors and the animals will be out. (DON'T skip Yosemite!!!)
I have not been to the Grand Canyon, but I will be going there in March, can't wait!
You should also look into the Nat'l Parks in the state of Utah, will take your breath away. Look at Moab, Arches Nat'l Monument, and Zion Nat'l Park, especially the Kalob Canyons. If you want to venture in New Mexico, check out the White Sands nat'l Monument, another breathtaker!
